Get started with Crosshead
Three commands give Claude Code or Codex memory that carries across sessions. Everything else is optional.
Install and connect
Run these from the root of a repository you work in. Needs Node.js 22+, npm, curl and tar on macOS or Linux.
curl -fsSL https://crosshead.sh/install | bashexport PATH="$HOME/.onlybots/bin:$PATH"crosshead quickstart --api-base https://crosshead.sh --adapter claude-code --workspace-root "$PWD"Prefer to read the installer first? It is at /install.sh and verifies the release checksum before unpacking.
Set up your tools
Claude Code
Install the hooks, what each hook does, and how it compares to CLAUDE.md, auto memory, --resume and /compact.
Codex
Install for Codex, why the codex wrapper matters, and signed handoffs between Codex and Claude Code.
Memory workflows
Resume a session, preserve requirements through compaction, compare memory tools, or move work between hosts.
Cursor and MCP
Rules, working notes and the separate local Crosshead MCP bridge, including its current availability and limits.
Pricing
What is free, what costs credits, typical daily cost, and how to add credits.
